LingoSprint books teach German through your profession. Level B1–B2. This is our brand book: the idea, the logo, inks and type, the parts the site is built from, and tools to use them correctly.

Jeder Satz hat eine zweite Zeile.

Same words. Sixteen percent more letters.

We measured 943 sentence pairs in our books. German used as many words as English, but 16% more letters: compounds, endings, capitals. That difference is our logo: the German line runs 1.16 times as long as its English, and the block underneath is the English.

The comma is not a typo. Germans write decimals with one: 1,16.

Measure your own sentence. Type it in German, then in English.

Our 943 pairs average 1.16. Yours?

Nothing you type leaves this page.

Read the German. Lift the English only when you need it.

A page from our books. Every English line is there, under a bar, upside down, or on a transparency you slide over the page. Tap any German word to mark it: it goes into your word list, with its article if it’s in our books.

Ein Designsystem schafft eine gemeinsame Sprache für Designer und Entwickler.

A design system creates a shared language for designers and developers.

Weniger Fehler, da getestete Komponenten wiederverwendet werden.

Fewer errors since tested components are reused.

Informationen und Bedienung müssen klar und verständlich sein.

Information and operation must be clear and understandable.

0 of 3 second lines lifted.

Ziel gruppe die Zielgruppe

German builds long words from short ones.

Ziel (goal) + Gruppe (group) = die Zielgruppe, the target group. The last part decides the gender: die Gruppe, so die Zielgruppe.

On a phone, pull the two parts together. We only ever cut a word where German joins it, sometimes at a small linking s: Verbesserung|s|potenzial.

Six inks from our covers, printed flat, edge to edge.

Inks are printed as flat fields, never as tints or gradients. On an ink, type is black and the second line sits on a white slab. Tap a strip to copy its value.

Auf Stoß.

Every series prints in two inks: its own, and a partner for the second line. They meet edge to edge, like two plates in register. Never on top of each other, never blended: an overlap would print a muddy third colour.

Barrierefreiheit

Fixel, and nothing else.

Fixel Display, 500–900, for every German line, heading and cover. Set tight, set big, cropped by the page if it has to be.

Fixel Text, 400–700, for the English line, body and interface.

Fixel by MacPaw, SIL Open Font License, self-hosted. No other fonts, no font requests to anyone else.

  • UX-DesignerinEnglish parts join German words with a hyphen.
  • die NutzerinNouns keep their capitals: a free hint that it’s a noun.

Seven professions, seven inks.

Each profession is a series with its own ink. Pull out a spine and this whole page reprints in it: examples, sentences and Studio sheets follow. On our home page, the same choice is the main menu.

Bauteile. Every part, in every state.

The parts this site is built from, live. Pick a part and a state. On a phone there is no hover: we show what your thumb gets instead. Each part is a shortcode in WordPress and an element in the page builder.

Things move because you did something.

Four durations, two eases, and one rule: German prints first, its second line follows a beat later, like two passes through a press. Nothing moves on its own, nothing hijacks your scroll. If your device asks for less motion, everything simply changes state.

Szenen. Where the brand turns up, and how it should look there.

Real places our sheets end up. Each one with the rule that matters most there. Every preview is printed live by the Studio, in your field’s ink.

Studio. Print it in our style.

For creators, teachers, HR teams, bloggers and readers. Pick a sheet, a sentence from our books and your details; see it in a feed before you post it. The German, the English and the inks are locked, so whatever you print is correct. It all runs in your browser: nothing is uploaded, not even your logo.

Licence. You may use assets made with this Studio to mention, review or recommend learngerman.school and LingoSprint books, on any channel, without asking. Please don't change the German or English text or the colours. What else is allowed?

Werkbank. Sixty seconds, one thing you’ll use tomorrow.

Small tools for the German that actually happens at work. Each one ends with a stamp on your Leseausweis (library card), a result you can keep, and a card if you want to post it. No account. It all stays on this device.

German for your international team.

What we offer

  • Materials made for your company: German texts about your product, your teams and the work they do, in the same format as our books. Not a generic book, but one cut to your case.
  • Team packs of our books for onboarding and relocation.
  • Co-branded welcome cards, intranet banners and posters from the Studio.
Tell us about your team

Our logo next to yours

  • Ours on the left, yours on the right, a thin rule between.
  • Same visual height for both; keep the height of our ink bar clear around them.
  • Label the pairing “In Zusammenarbeit mit” or “in partnership with”. The Studio builds this for you.
